Are you an experienced diesel mechanic who can independently solve malfunctions and take responsibility for complete repair and overhaul projects? Then we are looking for you.

As an Independent Diesel Mechanic, you will work on Caterpillar diesel engines in the maritime and industrial sectors. You will not only perform maintenance and repairs, but are also able to independently diagnose issues, plan work, and provide technical advice to customers. You are the face of our company on location and actively think along about the best solution for the customer.

At SDK Diesel Support, you will have a lot of freedom and responsibility. You will work together with a team of specialists, but you can also independently carry out projects from diagnosis to delivery.

What will you do?

Depending on the assignment, you will work independently or together with colleagues in our workshop or on-site at customers.

• Independently performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on Caterpillar diesel engines.

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.

• Detecting and resolving complex malfunctions.

• Carrying out inspections and condition measurements.

• Commissioning and testing engines after repairs.

• Advising customers on maintenance, usage, and technical improvements.

• Preparing clear service reports.

• Preparing and organizing your own work activities.

• Supporting and guiding less experienced mechanics where necessary.

• Occasionally performing work abroad.

What do we expect from you?

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or service technician.

• Able to work independently and make technical decisions.

• Experience with diagnostic work on diesel engines.

• Knowledge of mechanical and electronic engine management systems.

• MBO/HBO working and thinking level, preferably in Diesel Technology, Internal Combustion Engine Technology, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience with Caterpillar engines is a strong plus.

• Customer-oriented and professional attitude.

• Good command of the Dutch language.

• Willingness to occasionally work on location or abroad.

• Category B driving license.

• Good command of the Dutch language (speaking and reading)*.
